Are commercially offered tests that “rank” embryos unethical?

Director of the Center's Lázaro-Muñoz Laboratory: Brain Bioethics Laboratory, Gabriel Lázaro-Muñoz, PhD, JD,  spoke to Nature for an article on commercially available tests that "rank" embryos on the basis of their risk of developing certain diseases. Lázaro-Muñoz spoke to several logistical and ethical issues with such tests. He pointed out that the tests risk exacerbating the existing stigma of mental health conditions. Accordingly, he called for rigorous standards, written in collaboration with patient advocacy groups, to regulate the information shared about these tests with patients and clinicians.
