Sarah P. Chu, PhD
Sarah Chu, PhD is the director of policy and reform at the Perlmutter Center for Legal Justice at Cardozo Law. She received her PhD in Criminal Justice from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice/CUNY Graduate Center, MS in Epidemiology from Stanford University, MS in Biology from University of California, San Diego, and is an alumnus of the Fellowship in Bioethics at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Chu is an internationally recognized policy expert dedicated to advancing accountability, pathways to justice, and the equitable implementation of forensic science and investigative technologies to prevent wrongful convictions and support those seeking to prove their innocence. She is especially interested in applying bioethical principles to the adoption and management of science and technology in the criminal legal system. Dr. Chu was the 2021 recipient of the Legal Aid Society's Magnus Mukoro Award for Integrity in Forensic Science.
