Rami Elzayat, MD, SM, FRCPC
Rami Elzayat, MD, SM, FRCPC is an intensive care physician at the University of Manitoba, Canada. He received his MD from the University of Manitoba and completed residencies in internal medicine at the University of British Columbia, Canada and critical care medicine at the University of Manitoba. He underwent fellowship training in ECMO at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, UK. He received his Master of Science in bioethics from Harvard University. His clinical work focuses on the care of critically ill adults, severe respiratory failure, and extracorporeal life support. His bioethics interests include death determination, end-of-life care, autonomy, and the intersection of religion—particularly Islamic bioethics—and modern clinical ethics. He has received multiple awards for leadership, research excellence, and humanitarian contributions.
