Nada Salem, MSc is a bioethicist, tech policy specialist and science writer. She earned a MSc in bioethics from Harvard Medical School, and a BSc in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Calgary. Previously, she organized national science policy campaigns with the non-profit Evidence for Democracy, advocating for evidence-informed decisions and transparency in Canadian public policy. Her bioethics work examines the ethical, societal and policy impacts of emerging biomedical technologies, including medical AI, genomics and neurotechnology, with a recent focus on the consent gap in biological computing. Nada has also written about the human rights of research participants, the ethics of brain-computer interfaces, health data privacy and democracy, published in outlets including Canada’s National Observer and Tech Policy Press.
