Lukas J. Meier, PhD is an Associate at the Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University. He received his BPhil from the University of Oxford, his PhD from the University of St Andrews, and an MA from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. Lukas’ research areas are in neurophilosophy, artificial intelligence, medical ethics, and philosophy of mind. He is particularly interested in questions surrounding neurointerventions and consciousness, generative medical AI, and resource allocation in healthcare. Lukas publishes in both bioethics and philosophy and is the recipient of the 2025 Young Talent Award for Ethics in Medicine of the German Academy for Ethics in Medicine.
