Lisa Soleymani Lehmann, MD, PhD, MSc, is a primary care physician, bioethicist, and clinical researcher. She is Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School (part-time), and Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health (part-time). She previously held positions as Director of Research at Verily Health (Google Life Sciences), Director of Bioethics and Trust at Google, Chief Medical Officer of the VA New England Healthcare System, Executive Director of the VA National Center for Ethics in Health Care, and practiced primary care at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She teaches Health Policy at HMS. Her current research focuses on the responsible use of AI in healthcare, the implications of AI for human well-being, and the evaluation of AI solutions for safety, effectiveness, and reliability. She received an MD and PhD in moral philosophy from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Science in clinical epidemiology from Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health.
