Jeffrey L. Ecker, MD

Jeffrey L. Ecker, MD is a maternal-fetal medicine physician at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he has previously served as Department Chair, Director of Quality and Safety for Obstetrics and Gynecology, and as founder and inaugural Director of the MGH MFM Fellowship. He received his MD from Harvard Medical School in 1988 and is currently the Joe Vincent Meigs Distinguished Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at HMS. Jeff’s academic portfolio includes work, writing, and teaching which explore policy, practice and, in some cases, regulation that limit or conflict with decision-making, respect for autonomy, and just treatment of pregnant individuals. He is a past Chair of the Committee on Ethics for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and has been a member of similar groups for the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
