Frédérique Couture-Carrier, JD, MBE, is the Associate Director for the Master of Science in Bioethics program at Harvard Medical School, where she provides day-to-day academic leadership for faculty, staff, and students. She also serves as a Co-Director of the program’s Foundations of Bioethics course sequence and Capstone Experience. Her current teaching and research interests focus on ethical issues at the intersection of health law, biomedical science, and civil society, including the design and deployment of emerging biotechnology, the exponential growth of artificial intelligence applications, fair access to health care advances, and public engagement in science. Frédérique formerly practiced law at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in New York City. She earned her BA in History from Brown University, her JD from Harvard Law School, and her MBE from Harvard Medical School. Outside of work, she enjoys painting, reading fiction, and exploring the Boston area with her family.
