Frank Chessa, MA, PhD is Director of Clinical Ethics at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center. He received his Master's Degree in Philosophy from the University of South Florida. He received his Ph.D. in Ethical Theory from Georgetown University. He oversees the ethics consultation service and other aspects of the ethics program at MaineHealth and serves as a course director at Tufts University School of Medicine for several courses regarding ethics, professionalism, health systems and health disparities. He is the Principal Investigator for a study Increasing Clinical Trial Utilization and Enrollment of Non-English Speaking Research Subjects: A Revised Pathway (FDA, FAIN U01FD008261) and Co-leads the Community Engagement, Bioethics and Outreach Core, of the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence in Acute Care Research and Rural Disparities (NIH, FAIN P20GM139745). His areas of interest in bioethics include clinical ethics, end-of-life ethics, transplant ethics and research ethics.
