
Alexandra F. M. Cist, MD, MATS
Alex Cist, MD, MATS has a clinical background in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at MGH and serves on the MGH Optimum Care Committee and the Harvard Ethics Leaders Group. She is a coach in the MGH Department of Medicine, a Pastoral Care provider, and a recent graduate from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. She teaches in the ethics curriculum at HMS, and her ethics interests include: end of life care; ICU and disaster triage; facilitating multidisciplinary Ethics Rounds as a means of “keeping moral spaces open;” ethics consultation training; and using a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to ethics consultation, conflict resolution, and pastoral care. She particularly enjoys going for walks in the woods with anyone interested in having a conversation about “what matters to you and why?”
