Vardit Ravitsky, PhD will succeed Mildred Z. Solomon, EdD as President of the Hastings Center on September 1, 2023. In a recent announcement, Ravitsky said,
"I am thrilled at this opportunity to lead an organization uniquely positioned to help us understand the impact of technology on our lives. Ensuring that a wide range of voices is heard is essential to understanding shared values, and I am delighted to join the [Hastings] Center, where inclusive research and engagement are core to tackling the ethical challenges of our time."
Ravitsky is a full professor at the Bioethics Program, School of Public Health, University of Montréal and a part-time senior lecturer on Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Solomon is a professor of Global Health and Social Medicine and a core faculty member of the Center for Bioethics at Harvard Medical School, where she also directs the Fellowship in Bioethics.
