Center fellowship alum Glenn Ellis, MPH, spoke to Harvard Public Health about the connection between structural racism and adverse health outcomes. Ellis described that link with a metaphor: "Let's say you build a house and all the wood you use is infested with termites. The structure of the house has a fundamental flaw in it." The article charts the impact of that flaw—structural racism—on the health of people of color, and Black people in particular, at specific stages of life.
