Addressing LBGT Concerns in Health Care

Public Bioethic Forum health care concerns and needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex patients and providers

LBGT imageIn conjuctionion with Boston Pride week, the evening session of the Harvard Clinical Bioethics Course will explore the health care concerns and needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex people—whether they are care providers or patients.

Panelists will address basic standards of care including respect, privacy, visibility, and communications (use of appropriate terms and pronouns). LGBTQI-specific health care concerns including care access, medications, and treatment. The goal of this panel is to increase visibility of LGBTQI individuals in health care settings, and to address the need for accurate information and informed discussion about the health care concerns that may specifically impact this diverse population.

This event is free and open to the public.
