Lauren Walsh, MA, JD is a health care attorney and bioethicist with a focus on clinical research and related emerging health technologies. Ms. Walsh received her AB from Harvard College, her MA from New York University Graduate School of Arts and Science, and her JD from New York University School of Law. She has practiced in the Office of General Counsel at Mass General Brigham, the Office of General Counsel at Harvard University, and the Health Care group at Ropes & Gray LLP. Lauren teaches the ethical and legal implications of biotechnology and human subjects research in the Master of Bioethics program at Harvard Medical School. Her interest in the intersection of law and ethics in biomedical research is informed by her work, which includes counseling on state and federal law related to clinical research, advising on research misconduct proceedings and research collaborations, assessing research integrity functions and compliance programs, and advising on the implementation of artificial intelligence and other digital health technologies in research. She also advises on health care transactions and nonprofit corporate governance matters. Lauren has published on issues such as research misconduct, research data preservation and integrity, and correcting the published research record, and her work has appeared in academic journals such as Accountability in Research, Qualitative Research in Psychology, and the Journal of Law, Medicine and Ethics.
