Eric Blackstone, PhD

Eric Blackstone, PhD, HEC-C, is an Instructor in Medicine in the Division of Population Sciences at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and Harvard Medical School (HMS). He received his PhD in Bioethics from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and BS in Psychology from the Ohio State University. He conducts research on ethical issues in oncology and serves on DFCI's Ethics Advisory Committee and the Harvard Cancer Consortium's Institutional Review Board (IRB). His current research areas include patient views on artificial intelligence (AI) use in cancer care, improving IRB review of AI-based cancer research, resource allocation during shortages, improving surrogate decision-making, and establishing ethical standards for novel cancer screening tests.
