Elaine C. Meyer, PhD, RN, MBE
Elaine C. Meyer, PhD, RN, is a nurse, clinical psychologist at Boston Children’s Hospital, and associate professor of psychology at Harvard Medical School. She received her BSN and MSN from University of Pennsylvania, PhD from University of Rhode Island, and MBE from Harvard Medical School. Her work emphasizes patient/family perspectives and priorities, end-of-life care, challenging conversations in healthcare, and simulation education. Bioethics interests focus on everyday clinical ethical encounters, serving vulnerable populations, and humanism in healthcare. She is fellow of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, delivered a TEDx Talk, “On Being Present, Not Perfect,” and has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles. She looks forward to clinical ethics consultations, teaching, consulting and research partnerships, and writing about everyday clinical ethics and ethics education.
