Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Lázaro-Muñoz Laboratory

Erika Versalovic, PhD, is a postdoctoral research at the Brain Bioethics Lab in the Harvard Medical School Center for Bioethics. She completed her doctorate in philosophy, with a specialization in neuroethics, at the University of Washington. Her dissertation explored storytelling practices in bioethics—considering the ways that shared storytelling practices can shape individual and group identity. She is particularly interested in how to use qualitative, interview-based research methods to better integrate patient voices in medical research. At the Center, she serves as project lead for a project aiming to improve post-trial access and support for deep brain stimulation trial participants. In this work, she develops research instruments, collects and analyzes qualitative data, and facilitates discussion across stakeholder groups.
