Shahla Siddiqui, MBBS, MSc is an Anesthesiologist and Intensivist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She received her MBBS from the Aga Khan University Medical Center, Pakistan. She completed her surgical internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, NY, followed by her Anesthesiology residency at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and a Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Columbia University, NY. She obtained an MSc in Medical Ethics from the National University of Singapore where she was an Adjunct Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, prior to returning to Boston in 2019. My area of interest has been mixed methodology studies in patient and family-centered humanities research from an ethical perspective. I serve on the institutional review board (IRB) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and am also part of the Ethics advisory committee as well as a Capstone Mentor and have recently joined the HMS ethics course faculty. I have received the 2023 Presidential citation from the Society of Critical Care Medicine for my advocacy for women in critical care.
