Kelsey Berry, PhD, is a postdoctoral research scholar at the Center forBioethics at Harvard Medical School. She received her PhD in health policyand ethics from Harvard University and her BA in political philosophyand neuroscience from Princeton University. Kelsey’s research examinesthe application of theories of justice to resource allocation dilemmasin domestic and global health systems, especially as it regards accessto health care for vulnerable populations and the role of nonmedicalfactors in determining patient prioritization. She uses normative,qualitative, and quantitative research methods to analyze progresstowards fair access to health care, focusing on behavioral health as wellas solid organ transplantation policy areas. Kelsey has received teachingdistinctions in public health ethics and was previously awarded theEugene P. Beard Research Fellowship at Harvard University’s EdmondJ. Safra Center for Ethics. Years ago, she was a professional moderndance artist and continues to perform in Boston in her spare time.
