Carmen Langer, MD is a primary care physician from Germany. She studied at Witten/Herdecke University and was trained in internal medicine in a hospital setting and then completed her residency in a private primary care practice. During her more recent years of working in private practice, Dr. Langer’s long-term interest in end-of-life medical ethics greatly increased. At the same time, she realized that there is hardly any ethical support for private practice physicians available. For this reason, she is focused on establishing these ethical support services. In addition, a new field of interest for Dr. Langer is narrative medicine and its application in narrative ethics, where she would love to learn more as she views it as incredibly valuable in her work with families who find themselves dealing with end-of-life questions.
