13th: Documentary & Discussion

Free public screening of the award-winning documentary

The documentary, created by filmmaker Ava DuVernay, explores the history of racial inequality in the United States, focusing on the fact that the nation's prisons are disproportionately filled with African-Americans.

The screening will take place on Wednesday, November 29 at 6:30 p.m., and will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Center faculty member Patrick Smith. The panelists are: Rahsaan D. Hall of the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts, Elizabeth Hinton, PhD, assistant professor at Harvard University, and Fatimah Loren Muhammad of Equal Justice USA.
